“George Shaw: I woz ere” is a 40 min documentary film on the Turner-prize nominated artist, George Shaw, ahead of his ‘home-coming’ exhibition at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum, Coventry.
Centered around several conversations with the artist, the film serves as an intimate and honest portrait of this contemporary British artist.
Featuring some unique footage of the artist at work in his studio, the film is a document of this important time in George’s life & career. The film references and features some of the inspirations to George; more from a cultural perspective than an art history one. TV & Film clips include The Likely Lads, Tony Hancock and Porridge. The carefully selected soundtrack features new bands and artists from the Coventry area.
